Getting Here

French Island, Victoria is easily accessed by ferries from Stony Point on the mainland, and Cowes on Phillip Island.

Stony Point is about 70 km from Melbourne, and can be reached by car or train.

Tortoise Head Lodge is a 3 minute walk from Tankerton Jetty, on the “main road” Tankerton Road.
Of course we are happy to meet you at the jetty, and to assist guests with luggage and transport.

Inter-Island Ferry company runs a regular service between Stony Point, Tankerton (French Island) and Cowes on Phillip Island. Inter-Island Ferry timetables and fares are here. Charters are also available.

Travel by train on a Sunday Saver for $2.50, from anywhere in Melbourne’s Zone 1, Zone 2, or Zone 3.

Supervised car parking is available at Stony Point Foreshore Reserve (Melway map 195 F5) for $4.40 per day.
